At the core of the At Your Word, Lord process is the idea that people will form small faith-sharing groups… but what is faith-sharing? The following reflection has been offered:

"This training in holiness calls for a Christian life distinguished above all in the art of prayer." (Novo Millennio Ineunte, 32) "Lord, teach us to pray." People continually ask us to teach them how to pray – the words to use, the dispositions to have, the openness to God. "Cor ad cor loquitur" – heart speaks to heart. "This reciprocity is the very soul and substance of the Christian life and condition of pastoral life," says the Pope. This obviously includes the liturgy. But the Pope recommends lectio divina, the prayerful study of Scripture "which draws from the biblical text the living word which questions, directs and shapes our lives." (NMI 39)

This is surely what we mean by "Faith-Sharing". Not just a pooling of our sometimes limited knowledge and experience. But holding up the mirror of revelation, exploring the meaning of the sacred words in the context of past experience – and willingness to change in the light of that prayerful insight.
